In 2004, Cole Nowak was diagnosed with x-linked Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), a rare degenerative eye disease.
Cole, who is now 9 years-old, has already lost more than 30% of his vision. At night, Cole's vision is much worse and is now to the point where he must hold a person's hand while in the dark to avoid tripping, falling or walking into objects. He will eventually go completely blind unless a cure can be found.
While painful and heart-wrenching to watch, Cole’s family, friends, and Hope For Vision (HFV) refuse to give up hope and are charging forward to save Cole’s sight before it is too late. To date, Cole’s team of supporters has raised more than $180,000 for critical eye research.
They recognize, however, that something extraordinary must be done to draw awareness to RP in an effort to raise critical funding needed to find a cure for Cole and countless other children and adults who are losing their vision everyday to this disease.
