On Sunday, April 24, 2009, the San Francisco Community of Hope hosted its first annual Taste for Sight event raising nearly $25,000 for HFV. Over 150
guests enjoyed delicious hors d'oeuvres from Melon's Catering and wine from some of the best vineyards in California including Duckhorn and Kistler. In addition guests were able to bid on fabulous silent auction items as well as take part in a wine tasting with wine expert Christina Mirabile.
HFV founder Isaac Lidsky was on hand to speak to the crowd about HFV's mission and introduce two of HFV's research award recipients: Dr. Jacque Duncan from UCSF, and Dr. Daniel Palanker from Stanford University. The researchers spoke to the group about the latest advances in vision research and about their own projects to help cure retinal degenerative diseases.
