Chicago Heartland

The Chicago Heartland Community of Hope decided to have an "Evening at Home" solicitation in the fall of 2008.  We invited our friends and family to enjoy a relaxing evening at home while making a donation to Hope for Vision.  We are currently in our second year of the "Evening at Home" event and have increased our mailing list and dollars for research.  Many people have been generous to donate, and grateful that they did not have to worry about attending an event!

The return address on each envelope was personalized for committee members based on the mailing lists they submitted.  This year our invitation also included a HFV note card personalized by each committee member.  A pre addressed return envelope was inserted, inviting people to mail their donation to Hope for Vision.  So far this year we have received a response rate of over 30%, and we expect many more replies.

Our group is very inspired by HFV in its quest of finding treatments and cures for retinal diseases.  We hope to continue to grow and bring public awareness to the wonderful work of Hope for Vision.  Ultimately, we all know that our research dollars will make a difference to everyone affected by blinding diseases.

If you would like more information about our activities or to join the committee, please email Jeannie Yeargin at jeannie@hopeforvision.org.
